4 Critical Dust Collector Preventative Maintenance Tips to Keep Operating Efficiently

With manufacturing continuing to ramp up and come back online, we wanted to take a moment to discuss the importance of preventative maintenance for your dust collection equipment. First and foremost, it is valuable to understand the main elements in managing your dust control: Exposure, Efficiency and Emissions. To dive down further into each of these, click here.

More so than ever, dust exposure and housekeeping has become a top priority with manufacturing facilities to keep your employees safe. A way to reduce dust exposure is to monitor filter conditions and change out filters when they need replaced. Filter condition can be determined by differential pressure (Delta P).  We are often asked “how long will our filters last?” Measuring the Delta P is the best way to know when it is time to replace your filters. Keep in mind, your dust collector is only as efficient as the filters you have in it. Read more here on the advantages of a complete filter change out.

In addition to filter change outs, regular maintenance of the cleaning system on the collector will help extend filter life and the performance of your unit. To proactively reduce the chances of a potential shut down, we recommend following the suggestions located here.

When in doubt, call the experts. If you experience an issue with your dust collector, need a filter change out or preventive maintenance service, we have a solution that will work for you. We can also assist with dust collection equipment and system sizing and layout. If you are anticipating an equipment project down the pipeline, here is a good resource to get you started.
